International Experience

Study Abroad in Japan - Summer 2016

I spent the Summer studying Japanese Language, Japanese Culture and Politics, Tea Ceremony, and Woodblock Printing at Nanzan University. It was a wonderful opportunity where I got to experience a little bit of what Japan had to offer. I had a wonderful time eating out at hole in the wall restaurants, seeing historic monuments, and singing karaoke with classmates and local.

It was also during this study abroad that I began to practice Judo with the Nanzan Judo Club. This experience truly changed my life introducing me to my new favorite sport, Judo. Which has resulted in me joining the UF Judo club becoming an officer and competing in collegiate tournaments at the Regional level.

Cruise Vacation in the Caribbean- 2010

My family and I have always tried to travel whenever it was possible for us. One of the most accessible ways to do this for us was to go on on one of the many cruises that leave from Miami. In 2010, I went on 2 cruises with my family to various parts of the Caribbean. My parents felt that it was important for me and my sister to experience other cultures from an early age so that we better understand other people. Trips like these helped to foster this in me and broaden my perspective of the world around me.

Vacation in Costa Rica- 2015

My dad and I went on a trip to Costa Rica for fun and relaxation. This was I first time ever seeing the Pacific Ocean. The people of Costa Rica were all kind and welcoming to us. I had a wonderful time their enjoying the nature and local attractions. I would love to go back again and explore the Atlantic Side of the country since I spent most of my time in the western areas. I would also prefer a better car next time, the 3-cyclinder, 65- horsepower car that we had struggled against the mountains and rain of Costa Rica, however it did provide a good deal of excitement for me and my dad. Although the excitement from ziplining was both safer and more fun than the excitement of driving.
